As a contemporary artist specialising in lino printing, my work is inspired by the details of nature, local landscapes and the stunning views from the coast path.
I hope to capture the experience and essence of being outdoors, the calm, or wildness of hiking in nature, and the inspiration that brings. With each piece I create showing my response to the natural world.
The time intensive process of lino printing itself is also very therapeutic for me. The meticulous planning, carving and careful inking requires focus and patience and I find this is challenging but also very satisfying. Every design is hand carved, inked and printed for each layer of colour individually. Slowly reducing the surface area of the block and building up the layers to create the handmade, limited edition print. This low tech process is traditional and hands on.
I hope you enjoy my labour of love as much as I do making it. If you think you might like to have a go yourself, please have a look at my workshop information.
